官方解讀！商科生擇校為何要認准這一認證？

最近，很多學生和家長向大學提出了一些關於AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International，國際商學院協會) 認證情況的疑問。大學將這些問題整理後，向AACSB亞太區域負責人回饋，並且收到了正式的官方回復。

無論你是商科在讀生，還是有志于申請商科的同學，都來深入地瞭解這個資格最老、含金量最高的商科認證體系吧。同時，大學也會對新加坡校區的AACSB認證情況進行更新。

Q：為什麼AACSB在全球廣受歡迎？

A：我們是在商科領域，全球歷史最悠久、規模最大的的國際認證機構。我們認證所審核的內容是最全面且最嚴格的。

Q：AACSB認證對於學生的意義？

A：認證會間接影響學生、校友和教育機構。學校申請認證的原因，通常一方面受自身使命的驅動，同時也希望在全球前5%商學院的驗證下持續改進。如果學校致力於持續改進，學生自然會從中受益。例如，學生在申請深造時，可能需要有AACSB認證的商科課程才能對學分進行轉移；擁有AACSB認可的學位課程，也會成為申請的加分項。

Q：AACSB在新加坡分別有多少個會員和多少個受到認證的機構？

A：5個會員，3個受到認證。
注1：獲得AACSB會員資格後，才能申請認證。
注2：5個會員為新加坡國立大學、南洋理工大學、新加坡管理大學、詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區和新躍社科大學，前3所的商科課程受到認證。

Q：詹姆斯庫克大學新加坡校區目前處於認證申請的哪個階段？

A：現已進入AACSB認證的最後一個階段。初步審查委員會 (IAC) 主席通知IAC于2019年7月18日舉行會議，會議中投票接受了新加坡校區的進度報告，並且邀請學校申請初步認證並接受到校審查，這是認證進入最後階段的里程碑。最後一步是提交初次到校審查申請書，任命同行業評審主席和團隊，完成最終的自我評估報告，以及評審團隊向學校發出訪問信。

Q：新加坡有些教育機構被其他國家的大學特許開設其商科課程 (這些大學受到AACSB認證)。因此教育機構在推廣時，稱自己也是AACSB的認證機構。這是否正確？

A：如果教育機構只是提供受AACSB認證的其它大學的課程，但卻稱整個機構獲得了AACSB認證，請告知我們。這違反了我們的品牌規範。

Q：AACSB對於通過海外大學特許而擴展到新加坡教育機構的課程的認證，與其對大學本身的認證之間，有什麼區別？

A：作為獲得AACSB認證的大學，該大學提供的所有學位課程，即使是特許其它教育機構開設的課程，也在認證範圍內。當一所教育機構被特許開設商科課程時，無論課程由哪所受認證的大學負責，課程都包括在認證範圍內。它們的不同之處在於，認證狀態是從教育機構得來，還是從大學得來。

Q：那些是海外大學分校的新加坡私立院校，是否受到認證呢？

A：受認證大學的分校也被列入認證範圍。如果該分校不提供商學學位，則被排除在外。如果總校只有商學院受到AACSB認證，除非分校是商學院的一部分，否則不在認證範圍內。

Q：AACSB官網是否會列出擴展認證專案？

A：目前我們的網站上僅列出了受認證的大學/機構名稱，但我們即將在網站上增列受認證的課程名稱以及授課地點。

Q：成為AACSB會員的標準是什麼？

A：1. 申請院校被相關機構授權開設工商管理、管理或會計學士學位和/或研究生學位課程。2. 申請院校通過院校本身 (而不是與其它教育機構合作) 獨立提供工商管理、管理或會計方面的至少一個學士學位和/或研究生學位課程。

Q：私立機構是否有可能成為AACSB會員？

A：是的，哈佛大學和斯坦福大學都是私立機構，同時也是AACSB的創始機構之一。

Q：Why AACSB is popular worldwide?

A：We are the oldest and biggest internationalaccreditor for business worldwide. Our accreditation process is the mostinclusive but equally rigorous.

Q：How is AACSB accreditation of use to students?

A：Accreditation indirectly impacts students, alumni, and business. The mission driven standards and focus on continuous improvement validated by peers at the top 5% of business schools worldwide is generally why schools engage in Accreditation. Students receive the benefit of a school committed to continuous improvement. One such benefit is student mobility. For example, many schools require AACSB accreditation for credit transfers of business courses, or may give more weightage to AACSB accredited degrees for admission decisions.

Q：How many members AACSB has in Singapore? How many accredited institution in Singapore?

A：5 members, 3 accredited.

Q：What is James Cook University's application status/stage in Singapore?

A：JCU Singapore has now moved to the final stage of AASCB accreditation. Chair of the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) informed that IAC met on July 18, 2019 and voted to accept the JCU’s revised progress report and invited the school to apply for initial accreditation and receive a visit. This is a milestone for the next and the last stage of the accreditation. The final step involves submission of a Letter of Application for an Initial Visit, appointment of a peer review chair and team, completion of the final Self Evaluation Report, and the team’s pre-visit letter to the school.

Q：There are some private institutions in Singapore who claimed as their franchised partner Universities overseas are AACSB accredited, so they are promoting themselves that AACSB accredited institution. Is this correct?

A：Whichever schools are promoting themselves as accredited when they are only offering an franchised program from an AACSB accredited institution, please let me know. This would be in violation of our brand practices.

Q：What is the difference between AACSB accreditation for those extended to Singapore institutions vs separate unit of accreditation?

A：As a unit all degree programs delivered by that unit, even those that the unit franchises must be within the scope. As an institution, all business programs within that institution no matter which unit has the responsibility for their delivery are included in the scope of accreditation. The difference is where accreditation status flows down from, the institution or the unit.

Q：How about those private institutions in Singapore who self-claimed they are the branch campus of the home university?

A：Branch campuses of an accredited institution that has institutional accreditation are included in scope. Branches may be excluded only if they do not offer business degrees. If the business unit at the home university is the approved academic unit of accreditation, the branch campuses will usually be excluded unless the branch is part of that unit.

Q：Will the extended AACSB accreditations (offshore programs) listed on the website?

A：Currently we don’t list program on our website, but that is coming soon. The accredited unit/institution will be named and the programs offered and the locations they are offered will appear. Currently only the accredited unit/institution is listed on our website.

Q：What are the criteria to become AACSB member?

A：1. The applying collegiate institution is authorized to grant baccalaureate and/or graduate degree programs in business administration, management, or accounting by an appropriate governing body. 2. The applying collegiate institution offers at least one baccalaureate and/or graduate degree programs in business administration, management, or accounting independently through their institution, and not in partnership with another institution(s).

Q：Is it possible for private institutions to become AACSB member?

A：Yes,Harvard and Stanford ,both private institutions. Are among AACSB’s founders.

從AACSB的官網可以看到，無論是詹姆斯庫克大學澳大利亞主校區還是新加坡校區，都在會員名單上。

前文提到，新加坡校區現在已處於認證申請的最後一個階段。我們期待在明年能獲得AACSB認證，在AACSB官網 "Business"和"Accounting" 下麵畫上兩個神聖的 "√"。而且，我們也很有可能成為第4所在新加坡獲得該認證的大學哦。
